Farkas Pastry Shoppe

From its humble beginnings back in 1966, before Farkas Pastry Shoppe was open, Sandor Farkas was baking Krémes (napoleons) in his second-floor apartment for his family and friends. One week, Sandor decided to bring a box of Krémes to the movie theatre on West 25th street, where he and many of the Hungarians in the community would meet regularly to enjoy/share in their culture. The pastries were a huge hit, a reminder of home. From that point on, Sandor never stopped making the Krémes. He opened Farkas Pastry Shoppe with his son Atilla. It has since grown from a small bakery serving most of the Hungarian community to a Cleveland gem that people from all over Ohio come to enjoy.
