US Together Receives Grant from HIAS!
This past month, Phillip Price, AmeriCorps VISTA, and Nat Smucker, Support Services Coordinator, at US Together Toledo submitted a grant application to HIAS for a pilot program called Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) group programming. The grant was available for three HIAS affiliates and would provide $10,000 for nonclinical mental health and psychosocial group programming. US Together Toledo was fortunate to have our grant application accepted and we are in the beginning stages of building this new program. The program will be split into two groups, men and women, to help respond to the varying mental health and psychosocial needs of refugees in the Toledo community. Each group will elect someone from their community to help lead and organize the session to help foster an environment of inclusivity. US Together Toledo is excited to have this new opportunity and to continue addressing the needs of our refugee community.
