Meet Alex, Cleveland's New Intern!
Meet US Together’s new Cleveland intern, Alex Seamon! Alex is a junior at Baldwin Wallace University, majoring in Psychology with minors in Family Studies and Communication Sciences and Disorders. She decided to intern at US Together because she wanted to learn more about refugee and immigration policy, and not only how it individually affects refugees and immigrants, but also how policy shapes the diverse communities surrounding Cleveland.
Alex takes the phrase “love your neighbor” and tries to apply it to her everyday life and how she can make someone’s day better. With refugee and immigrant issues, there is not only a chance to love your neighbor, but to help them as well. Alex cares about refugee and immigrant issues because offering a support system and other services can help immigrant and refugees transition easier in American society and culture.
At our Cleveland office, Alex is working on organizing donations from the community, so that when a refugee is in need of one of our donated goods, the process will be quick and efficient! Alex will also be working on various other projects, such as creating social media content, tutoring refugee youth, and more!
We’re very excited to have Alex join our team, and appreciate all the amazing work she has done for us so far!
