Volunteer Spotlight: Dallas
This week, we want to recognize another one of our fantastic volunteers, Dallas Dunn. Dallas has been volunteering with the Toledo office for a year and a half. She helps our clients and staff by conducting citizenship classes and filling out citizenship applications. She is an amazing person and very approachable, and comes to every session prepared to teach and get involved with the clients. Originally a West Coast native, Dallas completed her undergraduate degree in Art History and Psychology at the University of Arizona. She developed a love for service while working at the Andre House doing arts nights with populations experiencing homelessness. She later moved to Los Angeles and continued giving back to the community by volunteering with the Best Friends Animal Society as well as doing work for the International Rescue Committee among other smaller organizations. Luckily for us, Dallas moved to Ohio a few years ago to be closer to her grandparents and started working with US Together. Not only has she worked with our citizenship program, but she also took a trip with US Together to Rwanda through our Global Perspectives program! Dallas is finishing up a Masters in Social Work and has career goals to work with children and adults who have experienced emotional or behavioral issues due to trauma. The staff at UST is so grateful for her help. Thank you, Dallas!
