Language Partner Spotlight: Meet Margo

Thank You Margo!

Today we want to spotlight one of our devoted volunteers, Margo Bush. Margo was introduced to US Together as a sophomore at The Ohio State University. She was inspired to volunteer with refugee and immigrant communities after volunteering with her mom - an ESL teacher in Cleveland. For over a year, Margo has been a language partner for one of our clients from Gambia. They meet once a week to practice English sentences and vocabulary for one hour. Margo explained that “she has become my friend. Now that we can’t meet in person, she calls me every so often to give me updates on her life and to check in.” Margo’s favorite part about volunteering is the opportunity to make friends while helping someone improve their language skills.
