Melody Reese, the new ESL Coordinator at US Together Toledo

This past week, the staff at US Together were so excited to welcome the new English as a Second Language (ESL) Coordinator, Melody Reese! At US Together, one of our core services is providing English as a Second Language courses, which help our clients enhance their English and learn English skills related to their personal and professional goals. Melody, as the ESL coordinator, is going to work with ESL students to develop language skills to enhance community integration, academic readiness, and expand their employment opportunities. Melody will plan and teach ESL courses as well as do additional work related to employment outreach and collaboration with the Women’s Empowerment program.

Melody has a MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL). She also has experience working with refugees, international students, factory workers, and parents to help them reach personal and vocational goals. She has worked in a variety of institutions both abroad and in the US. Melody is new to the Toledo area and is excited to learn and work with refugees in the Toledo community.

While Melody has worked in a variety of settings, she is excited to work at a non-profit and is particularly compelled by US Together because our organization was founded by refugees. She explains that the mission of US Together resonates with her “core commitment and values.” We are so excited to have Melody here in Toledo. Welcome Melody!
