Finders Keepers Corner Initiative
Though Women’s History Month has finished this year, US Together Cleveland is excited to continue supporting our talented female immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs through a new initiative with Finders Keepers Corner and Megan Eadeh, a local social studies teacher in Lakewood.
Finders Keepers Corner is a home decor and consignment store located in Berea, Ohio at 398 West Bagley Road # 10. They offer other local vendors the opportunity to sell their handmade items in their store. Starting this month, one female refugee or immigrant entrepreneur in US Together’s Microenterprise Development Program will be able to sell their items at Finders Keepers Corner thanks to a new collaboration with the store owner, Amany, and Megan.
Megan has worked with refugee families in the Cleveland area for years and knows how important it is to welcome newcomers and help them feel at home in their new communities here in the United States. Megan just launched her own small business, Redeemed Home, selling renewed furniture and home decor and wanted to help other female entrepreneurs as they launch their own businesses too! You can also find Megan’s amazing items at Finders Keepers Corner.
We are so grateful that Amany and Megan worked together to provide this wonderful opportunity to highlight our talented female refugee and immigrant entrepreneurs! #shoplocal #shoprefugeemade #femaleentrepreneurs
This month’s featured female refugee entrepreneur is Mariia Kharevych of Mariia K Moments. Mariia is a refugee from Ukraine. She came to the United States in 2018 with her husband and four girls. When Mariia was a child, she was always painting. This passion drove her to continue painting in adulthood and to start selling her artwork. She has been selling her paintings for about 12 years now and she loves painting on a variety of materials including paper and glass. She enjoys painting scenery as well as people, especially kids. She has been selling her painted glasswork here in the Cleveland area now for about 2 years and she has participated in many markets throughout the greater Cleveland area. She even did a painting class for staff and clients at US Together!
Be sure to stop in Finders Keepers Corner this month and check out Mariia’s items, which include painted candles, eggs, and vases, as well as the other awesome items available in the store!
