Meet our New Summer Associate: Ben!

We are so excited to introduce our AmeriCorps Food Summer Associate, Ben! As a Food Summer Associate, Ben will be helping the US Together Toledo office compile local food resources, screen clients for their eligibility for certain resources, and also assess each client’s dietary restrictions and coordinate meal distribution, as needed. According to Feeding America, Lucas Co. has a food insecurity rate of 13.5% and Ben is working with US Together to ensure our clients are able to access food and resources that they need. 

Ben was interested in working with US Together because he believes US Together is an essential organization that supports a marginalized populations, refugees. He wants to make an impact and develop resources and services that US Together can use in our work in the future.

Ben is a MA student in Spanish at Bowling Green State University and received his BA in Psychology and Spanish from Ohio State University last Spring. Following his summer with US Together, Ben will finish up his MA and hopes to one day pursue a PhD or become a lecturer in Spanish.
